Funko Fusion’s poor performance led to layoffs at the game developer’s studio. 10:10 Games worked hard to bring the Funko-branded game to market last year. But critical response and tepid sales led to the layoffs of 19 employees. Insider Gaming reports that some of the staff found out about this decision while they were on holiday break. Management also wanted the workers affected to attend consultation meetings while they were out of work.
One source from Insider Gaming’s piece said, “Management seemed very keen to wrap up the process quickly, and despite saying that they were fully open to suggestions and feedback, none of it has been taken on board.”

In addition to the layoffs, former 10:10 Games staffers learned that their severance package would be just payment according to the “notice period.” Any unused Holiday time would not be paid out. (The company encouraged employees to use their holiday time before the cuts were announced.) Multiple workers argue that 10:10 Games knew they were going to do these layoffs and wanted to avoid the Holiday time payout.
Insider Gaming’s reporting also details how Funko Fusion’s unfortunate performance led directly to these layoffs. Apparently, 10:10 Games had trouble securing funding for their next project. That means there was less work to go around. (The report also makes it clear that no senior level or upper management seems to have been affected by the cuts.) 10:10 Games has not offered a statement on the layoffs yet.
