Netflix’s own animated take on Devil May Cry looks like it’s heating up. After all, it is the second animated adaptation of the video game franchise of the same name after the Devil May Cry anime all the way back in 2007. With the success of the franchise (thanks in no small part to the recent release of Devil May Cry 5 in 2019), it’s not hard to see why it’d be getting a second animated adaptation. And judging by the look of the trailers, it’s an adaptation that has Dante be his pizza-munching self that we are more familiar with.

It’s no wonder then that Netflix would hype up that animated series however and whenever they can. This includes during the 2025 edition of Valentine’s Day. You would think that it wouldn’t apply to the bloody dark fantasy action story that Devil May Cry is. However, you would be wrong. At least, according to Netflix, you would be.

Devil May Cry Valentine’s Day 2025: Details

Dante would probably eat that entire sundae by himself…and in front of his date to boot.

Netflix is proud to hype up their upcoming Devil May Cry animated series with a brand new Valentine’s Day 2025-themed art. As you can see above, that art features demon-slayer Dante himself trying his best to be romantic. Complete with a rose gripped in his teeth, and a strawberry sundae for his date. Granted, it’s just as likely that the sundae is for himself, but oh well. One can hope.

Fortunately, that same art also reminds us of when we can see Dante in a non-romantic setting. At the bottom of that art, you can see that Devil May Cry will make its debut on April 3, 2025. As you can guess, this will be a Netflix exclusive, so you will need to head there to watch it at that date.

Bonus: Key Art and Synopsis

Dante isn’t in the mood for romance right now.

That’s not all, folks! Netflix also has the official key art for Devil May Cry, as you can see above. Not only that, but they also have an official synopsis to tease the story a bit. You can check out that synopsis below:

In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game and from the vision of Adi Shankar, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
