While Blue Box Ep. 16 “Unfair Woman” still has a significant focus on Taiki, it seems that Chinatsu is more the central character of this episode. All thanks to an interesting opinion of her actions, and from her own mother too. Viewers may disagree with the opinion that indecision is an unfair choice. However, it’s definitely leading to some emotional pain for Chinatsu.

Blue Box Ep. 16 “Unfair Woman”: Synopsis

Hina here is also a pretty big focus character.

Alas, Blue Box’s second cours only recently began its run. In fact, Blue Box Ep. 16 “Unfair Woman” only made its debut 11 days ago as of this writing. What could have been had their ages matched up.

As with the rest of this anime, it’s the story of Blue Box Ep. 16 “Unfair Woman” that keeps me glued to the screen. All because of its love triangle plot. Now, the trope itself is a very classic one, and is used in endless numbers of other romance stories, let alone anime. However, Kouji Miura has written this love triangle especially well. Mostly because she does try to make sure each corner of this love triangle gets equal amounts of screen time.

This episode is a prime example of that. Despite the fact that the title ultimately applies more to Chinatsu than anyone else, all three members of the love triangle get equal amounts of screen time. It really gives off the impression that everyone in the love triangle is equally important. This may seem like a small thing to think about. However, in a world where such romance anime are usually from the guy’s perspective, seeing that the girls and their perspectives are equally valid is a pretty powerful thing.

Oh, and the animation from Telecom Animation Film and TMS Entertainment remains as high quality as ever. Especially the lighting. Their animation team has a penchant for some really good-looking lighting. Even the lighting in a bathroom, complete with light reflecting prettily off of a rubber duck in the bathtub.

And here’s where the episode title comes in.

Alas, if you’re a sports fan who only want to watch sports and nothing else, then Blue Box Ep. 16 “Unfair Woman” is not the episode for you. Yes, there is a brief moment of sports being mentioned since sports is such a big part of the lives of our main characters. However, there’s no sports action depicted in this episode per se. If you want action, then might I suggest watching Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no YaibaSolo LevelingKaiju No. 8DDDDDAN DA DAN, and/or Zenshu. Those anime should have more than enough action to tide you over until the sports action comes back.

Tune back in to THS to find out more about Blue Box and other anime when we do.
