The Fantastic Four: The First Steps is teasing a massive trailer on Tuesday morning. Marvel Studios published a brand-new clip hyping the 7am ET release on 2/4. In the footage, a group of school kids rushes to see a shuttle launch. The Fantastic 4 insignia is displayed in a TV shop. In that same window, there are other 60s “Space Race” era craft visible.
Marvel has been very excited for fans to see what The Fantastic Four: First Steps looks like. They teased the movie with a drone show back at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. During Marvel’s yearly showcase, there was also some exclusive footage shown to people inside of Hall H. Initial reactions from that peek were positive.
Now, the studio is gearing up for a massive summer at the movies. Just a few weeks before, DC Studios will release Superman. In addition, the MCU introduces Thunderbolts* in May. So, it’s going to be a busy middle of the year for Marvel. With hope in the air, fans are just too excited to see what this incarnation of The Fantastic Four will be.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps Lifts Off
With all the eyes on The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a lot of fans may be wondering what makes this take different. Marvel’s First Family has hit the big screen multiple times. But, the fan response to those projects has been a little mixed. The studio is hoping that this movie can provide the definitive version of the throwback heroes.
Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman wanted to address the upcoming movie. He told Entertainment Weekly that this project wasn’t going to be an origin story. However, this version of the iconic heroes will also center on their family and what makes The Fantastic Four timeless.
“One of the ways we’re making it our own thing, is we’re not telling the story of them going up and being changed, and starting our story [there]. There’s a lot of well-known narrative that leads into that moment, right?,” Shakman said.
He added, “And then you’re making up your new story starting basically at the end of the first act, and we thought, ‘Well, let’s just start this thing off on a completely new foot. So we are beginning after that.’”
