Netflix is gearing up for a packed 2025, with a mix of new releases and returning favorites. As revealed at its annual Next on Netflix event. Some of the most highly anticipated shows include Stranger Things season 5 and Wednesday season 2. Exact premiere dates are still under wraps. However, Netflix has confirmed a solid slate for the first half of the year.
What’s On The Horizon For Netflix?
One of the biggest surprises is that Squid Game will return for its highly awaited third season on June 27. Much sooner than expected. June will also see the return of Ginny & Georgia for season 3. Other fan favorites like The Witcher, Emily in Paris, and Black Mirror will also be back. Along with new seasons of Monster (Ryan Murphy’s anthology series) and The Vince Staples Show.
On the unscripted front, Netflix will revive Temptation Island, set to premiere in March. Additional documentaries will include Katrina: Come Hell and High Water and Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer. American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden will also debut in March.
Unscripted projects without firm dates yet include a Victoria Beckham docuseries and an untitled SEC football series. Netflix is also diving deeper into live events, with shows like Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney and the SAG Awards coming soon.
What Else Is In The Pipeline?
Looking ahead, 2025 will be packed with more content throughout the year. Netflix releases include Big Mouth season 8 (its final season), along with the aforementioned Stranger Things season 5, and Wednesday season 2. Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Love on the Spectrum will also return, alongside new seasons of A Man on the Inside and The Diplomat. Fans can also look forward to the continuation of The Sandman, FUBAR season 2, and a new Jurassic World series.
With a robust lineup across all genres, Netflix’s 2025 looks set to keep audiences hooked all year long.
