Big E from WWE is one of the most charismatic and popular WWE Superstars of the modern era. His time in The New Day was the stuff of legends. Now, he’s taking his talents to the world of Marvel Studios, more specifically, the world of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The new series on Disney+ takes aim at the street-level heroics of Spider-Man and his up-and-coming time before he became an Avenger.
In a new interview with showrunner, EP, and head writer Jeff Trammell, our friend Brandon Davis (of Phase Hero) talked about Big E. You can check out that interview clip below.
Here’s what Jeff Trammell had to say about Big E.
“I asked him, he was like, ‘Yeah.’ He’s the best. He’s been in one other thing on NBC. He was in the show Laid but also he’s in this. We’ve been recording him since a few years ago. The first time he recorded, he was in the neck brace. So, we’ve had to sit on this for a while.”
While we know that Big E is in the show, we don’t know exactly what character he’s playing. We’ll all be able to find out when Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man releases its first two episodes on Disney+ on January 29th, 2025.
What Is Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man And What Has Big E Been Up To?

The new animated Spider-Man show, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is the first in a new line of animated series from Marvel Studios. It takes cutting-edge animation techniques and style to Disney+. It explores the early days of Spider-Man when Peter Parker was just saving people on the street instead of battling Thanos in space. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man stars Hudson Thames as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who’s reprising his role from What If…?. It also features a voice cast with Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy, Charlie Cox, Kari Wahlgren, and Paul F. Tompkins.
The extra wrinkle of the new series is that Norman Osborn becomes Peter’s mentor instead of Tony Stark. That means the show is set in an alternate timeline within the Marvel Multiverse.
As for Big E (Ettore Ewen), he’s been on the shelf with a neck injury that required surgery, and a lengthy recovery time. Now, he’s out of the neck brace and back to work with projects like Laid on Peacock. His character in WWE is an absolute delight, so we can only hope that tremendous energy and work ethic translate to voice work for the new show.
