Fresh off the success of “Nosferatu”, we are learning that Robert Eggers and Focus Features are teaming up again. This time for the genre film, “Werwulf”. It is slated for a 2026 Christmas Day release.
Eggers wrote the film, along with Sjón, who he also worked with on “The Northman”. Focus features will be producing and financing “Werwulf”. Eggers and Sjón will produce alongside Focus Features, with Maiden Voyage’s Chris and Eleanor Columbus executive producing.
While we don’t know much about the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “Werwulf” is said to be set in 13th century England. It will feature dialogue true to the time period along with translations when necessary.
To date, “Nosferatu” has made over $156 million worldwide. The film dropped on PVOD this week, and entering its eighth weekend at the box office. This is Eggers’ highest grossing film out of the gate, ahead of “The Northman”.
