Seth Rollins’s role got cut from Captain America: Brave New World before it even hit theaters in February. The WWE Superstar confirmed that he won’t be in the upcoming Marvel movie. Chris Van Vliet spoke to Rollins on his podcast and asked about the status of Captain America: Brave New World. It seems like The Visionary has had a lot of time to come to terms with his role being cut from the MCU’s next big tentpole.
Captain America: Brave New World has changed over the course of production. There was some concern about Rollins’s role getting cut. Now, fans know not to expect the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion to pop-up fighting Anthony Mackie. However, there is speculation that Rollins could be in line for another MCU role someday. He talked about it in the YouTube clip down below!
Seth Rollins Addresses Captain America: Brave New World Role
Here’s what Seth Rollins had to say to Chris Van Vliet: “It releases in February. Wish it the best, but I am not a part of that film. [What happened?] Well, does my NDA still apply if I’m not in the film anymore? Truth be told, any answer I gave would only be my opinion on it. The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially my role either got repurposed or completely erased.”
“So I did do a bit of an audition to possibly pop into another role, I believe, or the repurposing of my role, i’m not sure exactly on what it was, but they ended up going in a different direction with it,” Rollins added. “And yeah my understanding was there were just a lot of rewrites and a lot of reshoots, and they know they’ve got a finished product that they’re hopefully happy with, and hopefully it’s successful, but it will be sans Seth Rollins.”
Captain America: Brave New World Teased By Rollins
Rollins won’t be in Captain America: Brave New World, but he’s still excited to see the movie. In the same conversation with Van Vliet, the WWE Superstar expressed some optimism for what the next MCU movie is going to bring to the big screen. Rollins teased some fun stuff with Becky Lynch’s upcoming Star Trek debut in Starfleet Academy.
Here’s what Rollins had to offer, “It should be a good one. Marvel does a great job. I mean, if I’m not [in anything else], I don’t care. I don’t love acting, I love wrestling. My wife [WWE’s Becky Lynch] loves acting. She’s way better at it than I am. She’s got awesome stuff coming out. She announced her bit on Star Trek, which is going to be sick.”
