Ghost of Tsushima is one of the most renowned games in recent times. And by recent, I mean four years ago for the PS4 in July 17, 2020; but it’s still a fairly recent game. Not only that, but it’s a very well-received one too. It’s effectively an Assassin’s Creed game set in Tsushima Island, Japan that’s not by Ubisoft. Apparently, Sucker Punch Productions are doing a fantastic job with this sort of game.

Not least of which is because the game has its own multiplayer version titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. It started life as a multiplayer mode of the game in October 2020 before becoming a separate mode altogether in September 2021. Why is this important, you might ask? Well, because this and the base game are both going to get an anime adaptation. Don’t believe me? Then let’s find out more about this upcoming anime together, shall we?

Crunchyroll, together with Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions, are all proud to announce the upcoming anime adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Despite what the title implies, this anime won’t merely be an adaptation of the multiplayer mode, but of the base game from Sucker Punch Productions as well. All “inspired by Japanese folktales and mythology” to boot.

Alas, we don’t know all that much about this upcoming anime adaptation. All we know is that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be produced in collaboration with Aniplex (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no YaibaSolo LevelingSword Art Online). Takanobu Mizuno will be the director of this anime, with Gen Urobuchi (NITRO PLUS) for story composition, and KAMIKAZE DOUGA responsible for animation.

As for when we’ll see this anime? Well, Crunchyroll also announces that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will make its debut sometime in 2027. Exclusively on Crunchyroll, no less. Alas, this is two years away as of this writing, so you will be waiting for a while. You might want to play the original game on the PlayStation Store as you wait.

Tune back in to THS to find out more about Ghost of Tsushima: Legends and other anime series when we do.
