By almost all accounts, the anime adaptation of DAN DA DAN is a massive hit. It’s become quite clear that the original Shonen Jump manga of the same name by Yukinobu Tatsu is now one of the best anime series of 2024. With no small amount of help from Science SARU (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, Star Wars: Visions, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), of course, due to their stellar animation quality.
It’s really no wonder then why Crunchyroll would be so eager to continue to hype up DAN DA DAN. This is true even after the anime has just debuted its season finale. Why, you might ask? Well, mostly because we now know for certain from Crunchyroll themselves that there will be a season 2. All with a brand new visual to boot.
DAN DA DAN Season 2 Announcement: Details

Crunchyroll is proud to officially announce that DAN DA DAN season 2 is in the works at Science SARU with a brand new announcement visual. All in honor of the season finale of the anime that just made its debut. A season finale which also left off on a bit of a cliffhanger, so we’re all wondering when they finally resolve it. Especially since the announcement visual above shows the new guy Jiji (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa (JP) / Aleks Le (EN)) at the center of some very creepy Evil Eyes.
Alas, it will be a little while before we find out what happens to him after that season 1 cliffhanger. Crunchyroll’s announcement also mentions that DAN DA DAN season 2 will make its airing and streaming debut sometime in July 2025. Fortunately, if you can’t wait that long, then you can still watch season 1 on Crunchyroll, Netflix, or Hulu.
Bonus: Synopsis
That’s not all, folks! In case you haven’t watched DAN DA DAN season 1 yet, Crunchyroll has the official synopsis for that first season to hype up the horror fantasy anime as a whole. You can check that out below:
DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult geek. The two of them started talking after Momo rescued Okarun from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them – Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make each other believe in what they denied the existence of, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal entities that defy comprehension. Amid trouble, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to challenge the paranormal entities! Could this be the start of a fateful romance as well!?
Now begins a new story of occult battles and adolescence!
