You can officially watch one of the top films of the year at home starting tomorrow. Anora releases for purchase at digital retailers December 17.

Anora, a young sex worker from Brooklyn, gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and impulsively marries Vanya, the impetuous son of a Russian billionaire. But once Vanya’s parents catch wind of the union, Anora’s fairytale is threatened as they send their henchmen to force the pair to annul the marriage, setting off a wild chase through the streets of New York.

The feature comes from writer/director Sean Baker and stars Mikey Madison.

Since its debut on the festival circuit, Anora has brought home a number of awards and accolades. The feature received the Palme d’Or at Cannes, as well as Best Picture of the Year from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association; Best Screenplay from the New York Film Critics Association; and Best Actress for Mikey Madison by the National Board of Review. As we head into awards season, Anora currently holds four Gotham Award nominations, six Film Independent Spirit Award nominations, seven Critics Choice Award nominations, and five Golden Globe Award nominations.

In addition to its critical acclaim, the NEON feature has proved a box office success. Its theatrical debut earned the highest opening weekend per-screen average of 2024, and the second highest PSA post-pandemic after only Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City.

You can watch the film from the comfort of your own home starting December 17. Depending on your local theater, you may also still be able to catch it on the big screen.
