The web of Scream 7 is about to get a bit more complicated with rising star McKenna Grace joining the cast. According to Deadline, the actress is joining Neve Campbell, Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, and Asa Germann. It’s directed by franchise steward Kevin Williamson with a script from Guy Busick.

Now who is McKenna Grace playing in the film? That’s unknown at the moment, same with any sort of logline about the plot of the movie. The only real concrete details we have is that it’ll release in theaters on February 27th, 2026. It comes off the heels of Scream VI, which made a franchise-record $108 million at the domestic box office. The entire Scream franchise is nearing $1 billion at the worldwide box office and could hit that mark with the seventh film.

McKenna Grace is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood. She’s starring in the upcoming Regretting You alongside Allison Williams. She’s also made appearances in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire.

What Happened Behind The Scenes With Scream 7?

Scream 7 has seen some major turmoil behind the scenes even before it went into production. It was originally set to be directed by Christopher Landon with Radio Silence dropping out to direct Abigail and Ready Or Not 2Scream 5 and VI star Melissa Barerra was fired by Spyglass Media for her comments on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Jenna Ortega also had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Wednesday and other projects. The two leading ladies signaled the end of that era of the franchise. Landon dropped out as director soon after. Kevin Williamson was brought on in his stead to direct the film with a script from Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt.
