Halsey is joining the ranks of screenwriters around the world with a new dark comedy series at Amazon Prime Video. Variety is reporting that the singer/actress has a new series called Bloodlust that she’s developing with Ti West set to direct. Halsey, who’s birth name is Ashley Frangipane, is set to serve as creator, writer, and executive producer of Bloodlust, but will not star in the series. Mark Friedman is onboard as executive producer and showrunner. There are no plot details currently available.
The series has been in development at Amazon for some time now with Halsey, Anthony Li (Halsey’s manager), and Friedman attached. Halsey most recently starred in Ti West’s trilogy ender, MaXXXine, appearing as Maxxine’s friend Tabby Martin. She also has appeared in films like A Star Is Born, Americana, Sing 2, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, and more. She is best known for her musical career with albums like Badlands, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, Manic, and her most recent effort The Great Impersonator.
Ti West is the director of the X trilogy of films that includes X, Pearl, and MaXXXine. He’s also directed The House of the Devil, Trigger Man, The Innkeepers, and In The Valley Of Violence. The latest film capped off a much-hyped trilogy that made a star of Mia Goth as the titular characters.
