By all accounts, Netflix‘s Castlevania: Nocturne is a hit. A veritable hit, no less. At least, among critics. Case in point: Rotten Tomatoes recorded 24 positive reviews for a grand total of 96% for season 2 part one. The audience score though has been a bit…lacking. After 1000+ ratings, that first season has only a mere 45%. A good portion of the comments accompanying the ratings though seem to be a bit… dishonest, and often centering around the commenter complaining about the race of the characters more than anything else. It makes it really hard to tell if the show has a divisive story, or if it’s just the subject of undeserved review bombing.

In any case, these divisive reviews are likely why Netflix wants to hype up their upcoming second season of Castlevania: Nocturne. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out the brand new official trailer for the show below, and see for yourself if it’s worth the watch in spite of that potential review bombing?
