It would appear that Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is a hit. A veritable hit, you might say. When that first season made its debut on October 10, 2024; it released to mostly positive reviews. All with critics and audiences alike praising this animated / anime-esque series for being a nice action-adventure that adds new depths to Lara Croft’s character.
Thus, you can understand why Netflix is so eager to further hype up their animated series. Especially since they plan on this animated adaptation of Lara Croft’s video game adventures returning for a second season. Complete with the long-awaited appearance of a certain best friend / love interest for Lara Croft from the 2013 reboot.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Season 2: Details
Netflix is proud to announce that their animated series: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, will be returning for an upcoming second season. Alas, Netflix doesn’t give us a timeline for when we’ll get to see this season 2. All we know is that Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja) will continue to be the showrunner, writer, and executive producer for season 2. dj2 Entertainment founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog, Life Is Strange) will also executive produce alongside Timothy I. Stevenson; Jacob Robinson (Skull Island) under his company Tractor Pants; Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes for Crystal Dynamics; and Howard Bliss and Jen Chambers. Powerhouse Animation will continue to be the animation studio, with Brad Graeber serving as executive producer from there.
