Who’s ready for a fight? Netflix just announced a second season of its critically acclaimed series BEEF.
The series will be an anthology, bringing us a new cast and story to follow in season 2. This season, a young couple witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.
In addition to the new season description, Netflix revealed key cast members. The upcoming installment of BEEF will star Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny.
Season 2 will include eight 30-minute episodes. Season 1 stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong remain attached to the show as executive producers.
The original installment of BEEF followed the aftermath of a road rage incident between Danny (Yeun), a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, and Amy (Wong), a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life. The increasing stakes of their feud unravel their lives and relationships.
Season 1 of BEEF won eight Emmy Awards, four Critics Choice Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two SAG Awards, and a variety of other accolades. Netflix surely hopes to replicate that awards streak for season 2, with its casting choices coming off of a number of awards-buzzy projects.
