The latest mystery project from Christopher Nolan and Universal Pictures has found a second star to add to Matt Damon. Tom Holland is joining the cast of the latest film which has a release date of July 17th, 2026. Plot details including the title are top secret, but according to sources, the setting is not present day, whether that means past or future, we don’t know yet.

Nolan is directing, writing, and producing the film alongside his partner Emma Thomas for their company Syncopy. Nolan’s partnership with Universal began with the release of Oppenheimer, which propelled him to his first Oscar wins for Best Picture and Best Director. It earned a massive $976 million worldwide last year.

His previous partnership with Warner Bros. came to a screeching halt after the release of Tenet was bungled. This latest film didn’t go up for auction to the highest bidder, Nolan went back to Universal with the idea. Matt Damon has previously worked with Nolan on Oppenheimer and Interstellar (which is celebrating a 10th anniversary this year). Tom Holland has never worked with Nolan before.

Holland’s schedule is busy with this project, Spider-Man 4, and Avengers: Doomsday coming soon. His last project was the 2023 mini-series The Crowded Room.

We’ll keep you updated on Nolan’s next film.
