Sony Pictures has released the first poster for the latest entry in the Karate Kid franchise. The new film, Karate Kid: Legends will be the sixth film entry for the series. The franchise has experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to the Cobra Kai series on Netflix. The film will feature Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, both reprising their roles from the previous films. The cast also includes Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen. Karate Kid: Legends is set to crane kick its way to theatres next year on May 30th.

ABOUT LEGENDS

The film is directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber. That along with the cast, is nearly all that is known about th movie. Very little is known about the plot. However, it is expected that Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio will once again serve as mentors to a young “karate kid”. The “kid” this time being played by, Ben Wang. Given the multiple films and TV series that make up the franchise, there is certainly some potential for other characters to make cameos in the film.
