Adult Swim is locking in the Rick and Morty business with two more seasons, adding up to 12. With this renewal, the show will be on the air until at least 2029. The show was created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon and follows a sociopathic genius scientist who takes his grandson across the universe on dangerous adventures. It features the voice cast of Ian Cardoni as Rick and Harry Belden as Morty. Both of them took over starting in season 7 after Roiland’s exit from the show after allegations of sexual and abusive behavior. It also features roles with Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke, and Dan Harmon.

The show was the #1 comedy across all of cable during it’s third, fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons and has received two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program. Here’s what Dan Harmon had to say about the renewal.

“Nobody wants a universe without Rick and Morty. Fortunately, the list of places to go remains infinite.”

The renewal was announced during the Rick and Morty panel at New York Comic-Con. They also showed off a first look at season 8 of the show. Watch that below.
