Though Netflix’s Cobra Kai series only has the second half of its final season waiting to premiere, the show isn’t out of surprises just yet. Deadline revealed three new cast members today who will appear in season 6 part 2.
The newly announced stars include Lewis Tan, Patrick Luwis, and Rayna Vallandingham.
Tan will play Sensei Wolf. His film credits include Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine and 2021’s Mortal Kombat. Tan also previously worked with Netflix, appearing in the fantasy series Shadow & Bone.
Luwis will play Axel Kovacevic in Cobra Kai. Also a Netflix alum, Luwis appeared in both Part One and Part Two of the Zack Snyder sci-fi flicks Rebel Moon.
Finally, Vallandingham will join the final episodes of Cobra Kai as Zara Malik. The series will mark her acting debut.
Both Axel and Zara will appear in the series as students of Sensei Wolf.
“Casting and designing the character of Sensei Wolf, it needed to be a martial artist. Lewis jumped on our radar because we’ve been following his career and seen him take center stage in so many amazing roles,” said series co-creator Josh Heald told Tudum. “The idea of getting somebody with his skills and his presence to embody this character was amazing. From the moment he stepped on set, he was pure Sensei Wolf ready for action.”
Netflix’s Cobra Kai series takes place decades after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament from The Karate Kid film franchise. The series brings together film stars and newcomers for a continued story in the universe.
The first part of the show’s sixth and final season premiered on Netflix in July. In the upcoming part 2, Miyagi-Do faces new challenges and old enemies at the Sekai Taikai as they fight to become world champions. But can they stay united as internal rivalries bubble back to the surface?
You can stream seasons 1-6A of Cobra Kai on Netflix now. Season 6B will premiere on November 15.
