The title of Like a Dragon: Yakuza from Amazon MGM Studios, Wild Sheep Content, and 1212 Entertainment might seem familiar to fans of the Yakuza games from SEGA. In fact, fans of those games should feel quite a bit of excitement right now. Because this is in fact the live-action TV adaptation of those video games. It’s not only something that we never thought we would see, but also something that looks like it’s shaping up to be a good TV adaptation of a video game. Possibly even nearly as good as the The Last of Us TV series on HBO MAX.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza ~ Details
Prime Video is proud to reveal the first official trailer for their upcoming TV adaptation of the Yakuza games from SEGA: Like a Dragon: Yakuza on YouTube. The trailer not only reveals some footage from the TV series, but also when we’ll get to watch it.
According to that trailer, Like a Dragon: Yakuza will make its debut on Thursday, October 24, 2024. You can watch it on its debut only on Amazon Prime Video, where it will premiere in over 240 countries. Funnily enough, the first three episodes will make their premieres on that same date. The next three episodes will then make their debut the next week on Thursday, October 31, 2024 for a grand total of six episodes.

That’s not all, folks! Prime Video also has an extensive casting list for Like a Dragon: Yakuza to tease the upcoming series. All as an addition to the previously announced main cast of Ryoma Takeuchi as Kazuma Kiryu, Kento Kaku as Akira Nishikiyama, and Munetaka Aoki as Goro Majima. You can check out the full list below:
