When most people think of Nickelodeon, they think of the numerous animated series they’ve produced. Mostly aimed at children. Whether it’s SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, or Avatar: The Last Airbender; Nickelodeon has been responsible for all of them. Now it appears that they have another one in store for us in the form of Max & the Midknights from showrunners Sharon Flynn (All Hail King Julien) and David Skelly (Toy Story 2). Not to mention, it’s an animated series with a most unique aesthetic. Don’t believe me? Then why not watch the official trailer below, and see for yourself if that aesthetic is for you and/or your kids?

Max & the Midknights: Details

As you can see, it looks like claymation-esque animation is the new thing.

Nickelodeon is proud to announce their upcoming new animated series Max & the Midknights with an official trailer on YouTube. Said trailer reveals that the show has an almost claymation-like aesthetic to that animation despite it being entirely CGI. Fans of that aesthetic might find it similar to Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, and Chicken Run. Certainly, if you’re a fan of that aesthetic, this show might be for you.

Even better, Nickelodeon also has the voice cast for this show. Max & the Midknights will feature the voices of Blu del Barrio (Star Trek: Discovery) as Max, a brave and determined girl ready to take on any challenge headed her way; Melissa Villaseñor (Saturday Night Live) as Millie, a wacky yet super positive girl who brings the power of magic to the Midknights; Zeno Robinson (Transformers: EarthSpark) as Simon, Millie’s street-savvy and sometimes sarcastic companion; and Caleb Yen (Beyblade X) as Kevyn, the bookish genius with a photographic memory. Other voice cast members include Jeremy Rowley (iCarly) as Uncle Budrick, Gary Anthony Williams (Central Park) as Mumblin, Brian Stepanek (The Loud House) as King Gastley, and India de Beaufort (It’s Pony) as Fendra.

As for when we will get to see this show? Max & the Midknights will make its debut on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), with the show making its international debut on October 10, 2024. Of course, it will be a Nickelodeon exclusive, so you can only watch it there.

Tune back in to THS to find out more about Max & the Midknights and other Nickelodeon shows when we do.
