Capcom has been busy at gamescom 2024. One of the biggest additions they’ve made to their lineup is a slew of changes and new modes to Street Fighter 6. Capcom has added Terry from the SNK Fatal Fury series, creating one of the final bridges between Capcom’s fighter and the SNK series. They’ve also added two new modes/features to the game designed to improve players. Let’s dive into the two modes and how Terry felt in the game.
V-Rivals And Replay Review Are Basically A Coach For Street Fighter 6
One of the most harrowing gaming moments in my entire life was hopping on Street Fighter 2 when it came out on the Xbox Live Arcade store. I had played fighting games a bit here and there, but nothing was going to prepare me for the experience of getting my ass handed to me by some random person online. Well, if you’re ever in that sort of situation in Street Fighter 6, the new V-Rivals mode is just for you. It takes what would be your normal Ranked Match league ranking and has the CPU AI play at that level. This is a new mode specifically designed for newer players or players who are a bit hesitant to get online. It’s a perfect training method for people to get ready for battling online.
I hopped in, haven’t really touched Street Fighter 6 before, and was shocked at how good the CPU AI was at immediately making me better at the game. By the end of the session, I wasn’t quite ready for primetime online, but V-Rivals would surely have gotten me ready for it.
Replay Review Is More Help For Players
Check out the video above for how Replay Review works.
Basically the gist of the mode is that after a match, you can watch it back. Once you’re doing that, you can slow down, speed up, or even take control during a pivotal moment in the match. You can also take control of your opponent in the match to see how you might make changes on their part. It’s an insane tool for helping players to improve their play. Would a block or counter have been a better choice a half second earlier or later? Well, now you can find out with Replay Review.
Terry Takes The Stage
For longtime fighting game fans, Terry Bogard is a legend. The protagonist of the Fatal Fury series from SNK has finally made his way to Street Fighter. How does he handle?
Terry fits right into Street Fighter 6. Depending on what control scheme you use, his moves are both hard-hitting and powerful, but also fair to try to counter as an opponent. His costumes, including his classic Fatal Fury costume are insane to see in Street Fighter. Fans of his character are also in for a treat with his taunts. Terry has seven special moves, unique target combos, and is just all-around a powerful character to play with. You can grab him on September 24th in game with Fighter Coins or if you have the Year 2 Character Pass/Ultimate Pass.
Overall, if you’re a fan of Street Fighter 6, these new updates to the game are sure to excite. If you’re a new player looking to hop on the game, Terry, Replay Review, and V-Rivals are an excellent way to get into the game.
