The WCW and WWF wrestler known as Sycho Sid has passed away at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. His family confirmed the news in a Facebook post. His son, Gunnar, had this to say about his father.
In Memory of My Father, Sid Eudy
Dear friends and family,
I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years. He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss. Details for a memorial service will be shared soon.Thank you for your support.
Sincerely, Gunnar Eudy
Sid began his career in the mid-1980s and rose to prominence in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and later on in the WWF/WWE. His presence could be felt through the TV, a towering, hulking man, he was every bit of the real deal as a pro wrestler. He stood out among the crowd of awesome characters in both companies in the 1990s. Sid was a six-time world champion, capturing the WWF Championship twice and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice. His two other championship tenures were with the WAWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship. He headlined WrestleMania VIII and WrestleMania 13. He was against Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker at those events.
He headlined Starrcade in 2000 for WCW and was a highlight of a tumultuous period in that company in their final days. He was just as good as a villain as he was as a hero throughout his career, entertaining fans across the world. A devastating leg injury in 2001 effectively ended his pro wrestling career.
THS extends its thoughts to his family during this difficult time.
RIP Sycho Sid
