Netflix’s One Piece has really been a remarkable success story. All in the face of some incredible odds to boot. If you’re familiar with live-action adaptations of anime in general, then you know that all of them have had…mixed reception at best. However, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga and anime really bucks the trend here. 85% of critics over 61 reviews gave this adaptation a positive review on Rotten Tomatoes, with 95% of audiences doing the same over 10,000+ reviews. It’s quite honestly one of the most successful live-action adaptations of an anime to exist. Heck, it might actually be the most successful of them all.

It’s really no wonder why Netflix greenlit a second season to it weeks after the conclusion of the first. It’s also really no reason why any news of Netflix’s One Piece season 2 gets so much hype. Even better is when new actors and actresses get added to the ever-growing list of cast. And now, as you can tell by the title, we’ve got a pair of new cast to introduce to you. A pair of new cast that fans of Tony Tony Chopper will readily recognize from his backstory.
