It’s Jeff Goldblum’s world. We’re just living in it. Or at least, that’s the case in the new Netflix series KAOS, where Goldblum plays Zeus.
As King of the Gods, Zeus is both stylish and all-powerful – until something happens to make him feel like his hold on the world is floundering.
Check out the trailer for KAOS below.
Here’s the official synopsis of the series from Netflix:
Having long enjoyed his status as king of the gods, Zeus’s reign has never been truly threatened. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the god of gods – seeing signs everywhere – starts to dangerously self-destruct.
And he’s right to be worried. Zeus’s one time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down. The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world. No pressure. (Some pressure.)
KAOS features a huge lineup of stars playing characters any Greek mythology fan will recognize. In addition to Goldblum’s Zeus, the cast also includes Janet McTeer (Ozark) as Hera, David Thewlis (Fargo) as Hades, Rakie Ayola (The Pact) as Persephone, Cliff Curtis (Avatar: The Way of Water) as Poseidon, Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones) as Prometheus, Aurora Perrineau (Westworld) as Riddy, Nabhaan Rizwan (Station Eleven) as Dionysus, Killian Scott (Dublin Murders) as Orpheus, Misia Butler (The School For Good And Evil) as Caeneus, Stanley Townsend (Becoming Elizabeth) as Minos, and Leila Farzad (I Hate Suzie) as Ari. Billie Piper (I Hate Suzie, Doctor Who) and Suzy Eddie Izzard join the cast in cameo roles.
The series comes from creator, writer, and executive producer Charlie Covell. Covell previously teamed with Netflix for The End Of The F***ing World. Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo direct.
Season 1 of KAOS will include eight episodes. The series premieres on Netflix August 29.
