If you’re flocking (get it?) to theaters to see The Crow, you might as well watch it on the biggest screen possible. Today, the film revealed plans for a special IMAX run. But there’s a catch: The Crow will only show in IMAX for one week. So, grab your tickets for this limited run now.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
Bill Skarsgård takes on the iconic role of THE CROW in this modern reimagining of the graphic novel by James O’Barr. Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.
In addition to Skarsgård and FKA twigs, Danny Huston also stars. Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) directs.
As the synopsis notes, this iteration of The Crow isn’t really intended as a remake of the 1994 feature film. Instead, it goes back to the original graphic novel’s source material to adapt a new version of the story.
The Crow premieres in theaters, including IMAX, on August 23. You can snag tickets for an IMAX theater near you online.
