Wrestling fans know all about hard times. And I’m not just talking about the iconic Dusty Rhodes promo. The world can be a dark place, especially when it feels like we’re constantly living in unprecedented time. However, Willow Nightingale’s fans know there’s a silver lining because, as her best-selling shirt from Shop AEW says, “Nothing Matters. Smile Anyway.”

Driven by that motto, “The Babe With The Power” has racked up some serious achievements over the past year. Nightingale defeated the incomparable Mercedes Mone to become the first-ever NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. Then, she went on to win the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament by toppling a very game Ruby Soho. And just days before talking to That Hashtag Show at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, she captured the vacant CMLL World Women’s Championship in a three-way match against  Lluvia and Viva Van.

With her newly won title over her shoulder and her trademark smile adorning her face, the fan-favorite AEW superstar discussed just how meaningful it was to earn a title worn so proudly by several legends, including Hall of Famer Bull Nakano. We also talked about her ongoing issues with former friend Kris Statlander, some of the incredible pieces of gear she’s made over the years, and the role that Tumblr played in her career. Plus, Nightingale gave us some insight into how she keeps smiling, even when it’s not easy.

Willow Nightingale and the entire All Elite Wrestling roster can be seen every Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, every Friday on AEW Rampage, and every Saturday on AEW Collision. Plus, AEW is heading across the pond to Wembley Stadium once again for the blockbuster event All In London on Sunday, August 25, 2024, which will be headlined by “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland in a Title vs. Career match.
