Sharon Stone hasn’t been in an action flick in quite a while, but that all changes with Nobody 2. The sequel to the 2021 smash hit Nobody is adding Stone as the main villain. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Stone has joined Bob Odenkirk to star in the film. Odenkirk is reprising his role as mild-mannered family man Hutch, who is secretly a former government assassin. There aren’t any plot details available, but Stone will be the film’s chief villain.
Timo Tjahjanto, who’s known for his action and horror chops from May The Devil Take You and segments from V/H/S is directing the film. Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem wrote the screenplay. Odenkirk joins Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, who are producing via their Univeral-based 87North’s. Also producing are Marc Provissiero (No Hard Feelings) via Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment as well as Braden Aftergood through Eighty Two Films.
Universal has a current release date of August 15th, 2025 for Nobody 2.
The first movie was made on a budget of $16 million and they made use of every dollar to the tune of a pandemic-affected $57.5 million box office gross. THS hailed it as the action-movie of the year in 2021 and one of the best movies of 2021. Here’s what we had to say in our review:
What makes this film so remarkable? It’s all the pieces that coalesce into the final film. You have the sort of trick by casting Bob Odenkirk in the starring role. It subverts your expectations multiple times. So while it might be a standard action affair, it rises above the majority of the crop because of how it gets from Point A to Point B. You have excellent casting that takes normally comedic or action oriented stars like Michael Ironside and Christopher Lloyd and switches their roles basically.
It’s almost cartoonish in the way that it presents itself after the first twenty minutes. But it never veers into that territory fully. The ride is full of crowd-pleasing, endlessly fun, thrilling moments that will leave you with a huge, dumb, smile on your face at the end.
Sharon Stone is known for her roles in Basic Instinct, Total Recall, and Casino. She’s also known for her humanitarian work and has won awards for her work in that field.
