The big-budget and high-profile Halo series has been canceled at Paramount+ after two seasons. The show, which is a live-action adaptation of the massive Xbox franchise took some risks with its narrative, but looked to be rounding into form for a third season. The show originally debuted in 2022 and the second season aired between February and March 2024.
Here’s what Paramount+ had to say in a statement.
“Paramount+ can confirm that ‘Halo’ will not move forward with a third season on the service. We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work. We wish everyone the best going forward.”
According to Variety, Xbox, Amblin TV, and 343 Industries will try to shop the series to other outlets.
