Witch Hat Atelier is one of the most promising anime series in the works right now. It’s no wonder too. Kamome Shirahama has enraptured the attention of millions with her fantasy manga all about a young girl who loves magic and desires to learn to use it. After all, this manga did win the 2020 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material in the Asia category and the 2020 Harvey Awards for the Best Manga category here in NA region.
Thus, it’s not hard to imagine why animation studio Bug Films want to give Witch Hat Atelier an anime adaptation. Not only that, but based on how good the hints of the anime look, it will be the anime it deserves when we finally get to see it. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out the brand new official trailer from Anime Expo 2024 below, and see if you too might wish to see this magical anime?

Bonus: Key Visual and Synopsis
Want a better idea of what this anime is all about? Well, while Crunchyroll doesn’t have a synopsis for Witch Hat Atelier due to it not airing yet, there is still the synopsis for the manga from Kodansha. You can read that synopsis below:
A beautifully-illustrated story about a girl who longs for magic in her life and learns that, on the inside, she already is what she wishes she could be. Reminiscent of Studio Ghibli, this lushly drawn story was voted one of the Top 10 manga of the year in 2018 by the Japanese manga industry. In a world where everyone takes wonders like magic spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: she wants to be a witch.
But everybody knows magicians are born, not made, and Coco was not born with a gift for magic. Resigned to her un-magical life, Coco is about to give up on her dream to become a witch … until the day she meets Qifrey, a mysterious, traveling magician. After secretly seeing Qifrey perform magic in a way she’s never seen before, Coco soon learns what everybody “knows” might not be the truth, and discovers that her magical dream may not be as far away as it may seem …
