Today, Paramount has revealed the first poster for Gladiator II. Along with the poster, several new images have also been unveiled. This is a teaser for the official trailer, which will debut tomorrow, July 9. The new film stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington. Gladiator II is directed by Ridley Scott and will premiere in theatres on November 22. Gladiator II is set several years after the events of the first film and focuses on Lucius, the grandson of Rome’s former emperor Marcus Aurelius. SYNOPSIS
Several decades after the events of Gladiator (2000), Lucius—the grandson of Rome’s former emperor Marcus Aurelius and son of Lucilla—lives with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by general Marcus Acacius invade, forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by the story of Maximus, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator while opposing the rule of the young emperors Caracalla and Geta.
