“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” is almost here! But if you just can’t wait, you can watch the first five minutes of the film on Tudum. Just follow this link. It looks like Alex Foley is back! With Eddie Murphy slipping right back into his iconic role. The full movie will be released on Netflix on July 3rd.

Beverly Hills Cop – The Heat Is On

In the first few minutes, we basically get the opening credits of the film. But in that time, we get the sense of an 80’s feel through the classic song “The Heat is On”, by Glenn Frey. As Detective Axel Foley drives through the neighborhood. We then see him at a hockey game. Here the area is about to be robbed according to Axel, ending the clip.

Overall, the opening sequence does instill a sense of nostalgia for the 80’s style of movies that I love, which will make it a lot easier for me to check out the film on Netflix on Wednesday. We have seen Eddie Murphy bring back a classic film before with a “Coming to America” sequel on Prime that didn’t hit the mark. Hopefully, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F”, gives us a fun action-comedy.

The original “Beverly Hills Cop” was released in 1984 and was directed by Martin Brest. This followed Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley, a street-smart detective from Detroit who is visiting Beverly Hills to solve the murder of his best friend.

Here is the synopsis for “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F“, provided by Netflix:

Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
