Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody is excited to announce the addition of renowned Film, TV, and Stage director Andy Fickman to the team. In case you’re unfamiliar with Fickman’s work, he has staged successful productions of Heathers: The Musical and “Reefer Madness“. He also directed hit movies such as “She’s The Man” and “The Game Plan”. Fickman will be directing the Edinburgh Fringe production of the show from August 9th to 26th.

“I can’t stress enough what a thrill it was when the brilliant Richard Kraft asked me to direct Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody. Aside from just loving candy, I fell in love with these songs – written by some of the best in the business. On a personal note, one of my first jobs in Hollywood was Director of Development for Gene Wilder, the original Willy Wonka. So, this opportunity feels like a very sweet return home.”

NEW MUSIC COMING TO THE Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody

In more exciting news for Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody, Emmy-winning Songwriters Doug Rockwell, and Tioa Litvin return with their second demo track, titled “One Big Nothing.”

“The first time we heard about the Glasgow experience was reading a headline that said, ‘Police called to underwhelming Willy Wonka event.’ It all sounded so ridiculous that we had to click on it. Because… what happened next? Can you imagine being that cop? We literally couldn’t find the police response anywhere, so we wrote this song”.

The music video for “One Big Nothing” is helmed by the creative Chris Villain. It pays tribute to the absurdity and meme-worthy nature of the Wonka Glasgow incident. The music video features social media influencers Kurt Tocci, Tyler Warwick, Jasmine Paige Moore, Anna Brisbin, Tessa Netting, Jessica Chancellor, Dade Elza, Dayeanne Hutton, Josey Montana McCoy, and Chris Villain in roles as parents, patrons, and police officers.
