Ahead of its season 2 finale, AMC just officially gave Interview with the Vampire the green light for more episodes. The series will explore the events of the novel The Vampire Lestat in season 3, which is pretty big news for fans of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. Rice’s second novel in the series dives deep into vampire lore, introduces new and extremely powerful supernatural characters, and — perhaps most importantly — sees Lestat start a rock band.
Here’s the official tease for season 3 of Interview with the Vampire from AMC:
In season three, resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller “Interview With The Vampire,” the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can—by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified.
Interview with the Vampire stars Jacob Anderson as Louis and Sam Reid as Lestat. The season 2 cast also features Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, Delainey Hayles, and Ben Daniels.
Interview with the Vampire is AMC’s first series in its Anne Rice Immortal Universe. The universe also includes Mayfair Witches and the upcoming series The Talamasca.
The season 2 finale airs this Sunday, June 30 on AMC+ and at 9pm on AMC. You can also stream previous episodes, as well as other Anne Rice Immortal Universe content, on AMC+.
