Thomas Haden Church Joins Daniel Craig In Wake Up Dead Man
Thomas Haden Church is the latest star to join the loaded cast of Wake Up Dead Man. This is the third installment of the Knives Out series that stars Daniel Craig as private investigator Benoit Blanc. Our friends at The Wrap had the news. Haden Church is the eighth actor added to the cast, joining Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor, and Cailee Spaeny. The film goes into production in the UK later this month for a 2025 release date.
We don’t have any plot details available, but it’ll be another murder mystery with Blanc at the center of it.
Here’s what Johnson had to say about the new film on social media.
“I love everything about whodunits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”
What Is Knives Out?
The first film, Knives Out, grossed an impressive $312 million against a $40 million budget. Netflix bought the rights to the series for $450 million and gave us 2022’s Glass Onion. That film was the first Netflix movie to ever play in the US’s three biggest theater chains, AMC, Regal, and Cinemark. It grossed over $15 million in a limited, one-week-only run. There is no word on if Netflix will put this third film into theaters.
Each film in the series has only had one constant with Daniel Craig as the enigmatic Benoit Blanc.
You can see Thomas Haden Church in Kevin Costner’s Horizon, which is shooting its third chapter right now. The first chapter will be released in theaters on June 28th and then chapter 2 follows in August.
