Get ready to explore a fantastical new world this summer. The Apple TV+ show WondLa premieres soon, and now we have a first look at the animated series. Check out the official trailer below.
The Apple TV+ series adapts the bestselling book series The Search for WondLa by Toni Di Terlizzi. The show follows Eva, a curious, enthusiastic, and spirited teenager raised in a state-of-the-art underground bunker by Muthr, a robot caretaker. On her 16th birthday, an attack on Eva’s bunker forces her onto the Earth’s surface. But the surface is now inhabited by aliens, covered with otherworldly fauna, and no other humans to be found. In fact, it’s no longer called Earth but Orbona. Otto, a loveable giant water bear with whom Eva shares telepathic powers, and Rovender, a cantankerous alien with a troubled past join Eva as she leads the team on a dangerous quest to find humans, her home, and her true destiny.
The adventure trilogy’s voice cast features Jeanine Mason as Eva, Emmy nominee Teri Hatcher as Muthr, Emmy winner Brad Garrett as Otto, and Gary Anthony Williams as Rovender. The extended voice cast also features Chiké Okonkwo as Besteel, the greatest hunter in all of Orbona; D.C. Douglas as Omnipod, Dynasty Corporation’s sentient hand-held device, issued to every human at the age of six; and Emmy Award nominee Alan Tudyk as Cadmus Pryde, founder of Dynastes Corporation.
Bobs Gannaway serves as showrunner and executive producer on WondLa. Series author DiTerlizzi also executive produces, along with Jeremy Bell, Julie Kane-Ritsch and Skydance Animation’s John Lasseter, David Ellison, and Dana Goldberg.
WondLa comes from Skydance Animation, which previously partnered with Apple TV+ to release the feature Luck.
The first season of WondLa includes seven episodes. It will premiere globally on Apple TV+ Friday, June 28. Until then, check back to THS for more updates.
