Yet another big name has been announced for the next Knives Out mystery. Mila Kunis joins the star-studded cast of Wake Up Dead Man.

As you may expect by now, details about Kunis’ character and specific role in the third Benoit Blanc mystery film remain under wraps.

Kunis joins a number of other actors announced for the project in the last couple days, including Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, and Jeremy Renner. They’ll join Daniel Craig, who reprises his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in the upcoming Netflix mystery.

We don’t have any plot details for Wake Up Dead Man just yet. However, Rian Johnson returns to write and direct the third installment.

Here’s what Johnson had to say about the new film on social media.

“I love everything about whodunits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”

Knives Out released theatrically in 2019, bringing in an impressive $312 million against a $40 million budget. Netflix then bought the rights to the series and gave us the 2022 film Glass Onion. That film was the first Netflix movie to ever play in the US’s three biggest theater chains, AMC, Regal, and Cinemark. It grossed over $15 million in a limited, one-week-only run. Currently, we don’t know if Netflix will release Wake Up Dead Man in theaters as well as streaming.

Kunis’ decades-spanning career includes credits like That 70s Show, Family Guy, and Black Swan.
