Earlier this year, production company A24 announced a special partnership with IMAX. The companies teamed up to bring previously released A24 films to IMAX movie screens across the country every month.
Today, we learned which films fans can next catch in theaters in the premium format. The A24 IMAX Summer Slate includes the horror flick Midsommar, the rock band documentary Oasis: Supersonic, and the Academy Award winning Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Here’s the film release schedule:
- Midsommar – A couple travels to Northern Europe to visit a rural hometown’s fabled Swedish mid-summer festival. But what begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult. Ari Aster’s director’s cut hits IMAX Thursday June 20.
- Oasis: Supersonic – Oasis’s breakthrough years documented into a detailed depiction of the infamous brothers from Manchester forming the band in the early 90’s leading up to the legendary performance at Knebworth. Mat Whitecross’ docudrama arrives in IMAX Tuesday, July 16.
- Everything Everywhere All At Once – A middle-aged woman is swept up into an insane adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led. The Daniels’ seven-time Oscar winner hits IMAX Wednesday, August 28.
The summer lineup marks the second set of A24 features re-releasing through the partnership with IMAX. Previous screenings include Ex Machina, Hereditary, and Uncut Gems.
The screenings will take place in more than 300 IMAX locations nationwide. You can find tickets for your local screening at imax.com/a24.
