Marvel Studios Brings In New Writer From Hunger Games Series
Everyone on Earth is wrapped up in X-Men fever after the success of X-Men ’97, and now it looks like Marvel Studios has found a writer for their upcoming film.
Deadline is reporting that Michael Lesslie is their choice to write the upcoming X-Men movie. He previously wrote Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes. The movie is in the earliest stages of development and doesn’t have a director or any actors attached. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will produce the film.
Feige and the rest of the brass at Marvel Studios have made finding a writer for this film a priority. They wanted to take their time following the Writer’s Strike and met with tons of writers. Lesslie was the finalist and boarded it. Now the search goes to a director to handle the weight of a new X-Men series.
For fans of the characters, this is surely exciting news. Fans have been begging Marvel to do the X-Men since Disney acquired Fox and the rights to the characters back in 2019. This news follows the absolutely massive success of X-Men ’97, which just saw its first season finale. It has been a huge ratings hit for Disney+ and earned rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
Lesslie goes from Hunger Games to the Now You See Me franchise. He wrote the third film in the franchise that should see release next year.
This is a developing story and we’ll keep you updated as we get more news.
