Time for the Fantastic Four to meet their sworn enemy, Galactus.
Ralph Ineson, veteran British actor from the Harry Potter series and The First Omen, has landed the massive role of Galactus. Galactus is the main antagonist for The Fantastic Four and likely the MCU in the future. He’s one of their most powerful and biggest baddies in their long and illustrious history. This is the first outing for the team under the Marvel Studios banner. They’re planning to shoot starting in mid-summer in England.
Joining Ineson are Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). In addition, Julia Garner is on board to play Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer.
John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser have also recently joined the film in mystery roles. Ineson is said to be playing Galactus, an intergalactic being who eats the life force of planets. Galactus was created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. He is a towering figure that’s capable of decimating entire planets. He made his movie debut in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and was a CGI cloud, instead of his comics accurate look.
Matt Shakman is on board to direct from a script by Eric Pearson Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Peter Cameron (WandaVision) has also done some writing on the project. Kevin Feige is producing for Marvel Studios. The film is set to release in theaters on July 25th, 2025.
Ineson can be seen in theaters right now as a priest in The First Omen and he also had a role in last year’s The Creator. He’s doing his third film with Robert Eggers in Nosferatu, coming out later this year.
