The director of Cruella and I, Tonya Craig Gillespie, is reportedly in talks to direct the upcoming Supergirl film at DC Studios. Deadline was first with the news about his involvement. They’re reporting that the plan is for DC to shoot the movie for Quarter 4 after they’ve completed James Gunn’s Superman.
The role of Supergirl was a hotly contested audition between several actresses earlier in the year, but Millie Alcock won the role. DC Bosses Gunn and Peter Safran are producing. DC EVP Chantal Nong is executive producing. The film is based on the 2022 comic series from Tom King, Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow. It remains to be seen if there’ll be a subtitle for the film or not; as of right now, it’s just known as Supergirl. Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay for the film.
This is a developing story and we’ll keep you updated on it as we get more news.
