Horror fans, it looks like you’ll want to head over to Prime Video this April. The streaming platform will soon debut the second season of horror anthology series Them. Prime released the first official trailer today, and it looks pretty killer (pun intended).
The second season of Them, subtitled The Scare, sticks to the first season’s Los Angeles setting, but jumps in time from the 1950s to the 1990s. The upcoming season will follow new characters and a different horrifying story than the previous installment.
Them: The Scare centers on Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve and her new case: the gruesome murder of a foster home mother. Navigating a tumultuous time in Los Angeles, with a city on the razor’s edge of chaos, Dawn is determined to stop the killer. But as she draws closer to the truth, something ominous and malevolent grips her and her family.
“With THEM: The Scare, we wanted to combine our love of horror with a look at Los Angeles’s rich history and evolution,” said creator, executive producer and showrunner Little Marvin. “This second installment is a new story set in the 90’s, one of the most iconic decades for film, music and fashion, particularly in Los Angeles.”
One of the stars from the series’ first season, Deborah Ayorinde, will return to lead season 2. This time, Ayorinde will play Detective Dawn Reeve. Pam Grier (Foxy Brown, Jackie Brown) and Grammy-nominated musician and actor Luke James (The Chi, Insecure) also star. The extended cast includes Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Wayne Knight, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert.
Them: The Scare will premiere all eight episodes April 25 on Prime Video. Until then, check back to THS for more updates.
