There are kids who behave monstrously, and then there are kids who are monsters. Literally. In the new Universal horror movie Abigail, a kidnapping takes an unexpected turn when the 12-year-old ballerina turns out to be a vicious, bloodthirsty vampire.
Kathryn Newton plays one of the unfortunate kidnappers. In this new clip, she takes us behind-the-scenes of the movie, so we can see where the bodies are buried. Or, uh, not quite buried, actually.
Check it out Newton’s set tour below:
The clip highlights some key locations from the film, including the bedroom Abigail is first locked up in; a room full of mannequins where Newton’s character and Abigail have a face-off; and “the abattoir” – a sunken area full of bodies.
Here’s the official synopsis of Abigail from Universal Studios:
After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.
The film comes from Radio Silence (the directing team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett). The duo’s previous horror features include Ready or Not, 2022’s Scream and its follow-up Scream VI. Radio Silence re-teamed with writer Guy Busick for the script, also written by Stephen Shields (The Hole in the Ground, Zombie Bashers).
In addition to Newton, Abigail stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, and Angus Cloud as the kidnappers and Alisha Weir as Abigail.
Abigail premieres in theaters April 19.
