At the risk of quoting a Nicole Kidman ad, there’s something special about seeing a movie on the big screen. Production company A24 and IMAX agree, which is why they’re teaming up to bring films from the A24 library to IMAX screens across the country this year.

The partnership will bring A24 titles to IMAX for the first time ever with a new monthly screening series. The screenings begin this month, and will continue every month for the rest of 2024. IMAX will digitally remaster A24 films for the specialty theater’s format.

The A24 x IMAX series launches March 27 with screenings of Alex Garland’s Academy Award-winning film Ex Machina. Following the film, fans will also get a sneak peek at Garland’s next feature, Civil War, which premieres in theaters and IMAX April 12.

The other features launching this screening series include Ari Aster’s horror flick Hereditary (April 24) and the Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems (May 22).

Films selected to screen for the rest of the year haven’t been revealed just yet. However, A24’s catalog includes over 140 feature films. Recent releases include Love Lies Bleeding, now in theaters, and The Zone of Interest, which won two Oscars during Sunday’s Academy Awards. Other recent films include The Iron Claw, Dream Scenario, Priscilla, Past Lives, Beau Is Afraid, You Hurt My Feelings, The Whale, Pearl, Aftersun, and Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The screenings will take place in more than 300 IMAX locations nationwide and select theaters internationally. You can find tickets for your local screening at imax.com/a24.
