Imaginary is the latest film from Blumhouse and writer/director Jeff Wadlow (Kickass 2/Truth or Dare). The story revolves around Jessica (DeWanda Wise – Jurassic World Dominion), a renowned children’s book author and artist who moves back to her childhood home with her husband and step-children. However, their plans take a dark turn when her stepdaughter, Alice (Pyper Braun), befriends an imaginary friend named Chauncey Bear. While most imaginary friends are harmless, Chauncy…is anything but.
So, I had a chance to sit down with Jason Blum (Blumhouse) and Writer/Director Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare/Fantasy Island) to discuss their film, Imaginay, and what makes it great for everyone!

More about the Film
From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S and M3GAN, comes an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath?
When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister.
As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

Imaginary comes from director Jeff Wadlow, who wrote the screenplay along with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. In addition to Wise and Braun, the film also stars Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Veronica Falcon, and Betty Buckley.
