Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine” an introduction to two things Sasaki probably never thought he would ever see. The first thing is promotion, and a very rapid promotion on top of that. The second is the local black market, with the introduction coming from the last person he probably expected to get it from.

Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine”: Synopsis
Alas, Sasaki and Peeps is still a fairly recent anime series. In fact, Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine” only just premiered today as of this writing. Thus, you will all get the official synopsis from Crunchyroll instead of a spoiler-filled plot summary. You can read that below:

Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine”: The Good
Again, the story of Sasaki and Peeps is proving to be the best part about it, and Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine” is no exception. I mean, in what other isekai story do you have the main character’s best deal is to finally access the local black market to make killer deals off of? Or even address the economic issues of trading currencies between worlds, especially when the main character wishes to keep both worlds from knowing about each other? Or heck, when promotions for the main character are a bad thing to them?
Yes, that’s right. Sasaki himself is part of why the story of this episode is great. He drives much of the comedy in this episode. Not least of which is because he gets some seriously unwanted promotions. Most people would be happy with that. Sasaki knows better though. While promotions do equal increased pay, it also means increased responsibilities and duties. At least, in this organization, it does. That’s why the promotions are an unwanted thing for him, but alas, he gets them nonetheless. It’s all great comedy for us though, so it’s alright here.
Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine”: The Bad
My only complaint about Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 6 “Interview and Wine and Dine” is the same complaint I’ve been having about most of the anime in general. That would be the inconsistent animation quality. One frame could have the most gorgeous and hilariously animated facial expressions like the above, while the next could feature blobs and blobby people. Is it too much to ask that this amazing story can get consistently good animation? I guess not. We’ll just have to depend on the story to continue carrying this anime to greatness. Which fortunately, said story very much is.
