The Girls on the Bus is a new MAX series that takes viewers on a journey through the campaign trail alongside four distinct female journalists. This way, each journalist is able to bring their unique reporting style and personality to the forefront.

So, the story revolves around Sadie McCarthy, portrayed by Melissa Benoist (Supergirl). Sadie is a journalist who idealizes the past era of campaign reporting. So, she takes a leap of faith by leaving her entire life behind for the opportunity to cover a presidential candidate for a prestigious newspaper. As Sadie joins the bus, she forms unexpected connections with her three female competitors: Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), as well as Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). Despite their contrasting backgrounds, these women form a tight-knit bond. Their friendship is akin to a chosen family, as they witness the captivating drama of the White House battle unfold before their eyes.

The Girls on the Bus is created by Amy Chozick and Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries). The series draws inspiration from Chozick’s own experiences as a political reporter on the campaign bus, covering multiple presidential candidates. The show features an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Chozick, Plec, Rina Mimoun, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Marcos Siega. The Girls on the Bus will debut with two episodes Thursday, March 14, 2024. Then, followed by one new episode weekly through May 9 on Max.
