“Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

Also, Beatrice Springborn, President of Universal International Studios and UCP has disclosed that the upcoming spin-off series will capture a similar energy to the original show. She further mentioned that the spin-off will maintain a “fun and happy” tone while being set “in the same time frame” as the original Suits.

Hollywood journalist Matthew Belloni also revealed details about the spin-off show’s new lead character, Erica. “Erica is described as a Black woman in her 30s, hailing from Southern California, and a Harvard law graduate. Her ambition drives her to vie for the position of Head of Entertainment. While she excels at closing deals with clients, she faces challenges in other areas. Notably, Erica is portrayed as exceptionally intelligent, surpassing her peers in intellect.”

TED BLACK – MALE, 40S, ANY ETHNICITY

Ted is a Complex and Driven Character in the World of Law. He is a multifaceted individual, possessing qualities such as intelligence, shrewdness, arrogance, and a knack for manipulation. Occasionally, his actions may even border on the outrageous, as he is entirely focused on his own interests and craves power. Having started his career as a New York prosecutor, Ted later teamed up with his old friend Stuart Lane to establish a prominent law firm in Los Angeles, specializing in criminal and entertainment law.

Eddie has Down syndrome and is the loving brother of Ted. He exudes sweetness and a delightful sense of humor. Ted finds solace in Eddie’s affectionate presence; seeking comfort in his brother’s company at the end of each day or whenever nightmares disrupt his sleep. Suits: L.A. is currently casting its pilot and is scheduled to begin filming in March 2024 in Vancouver and Los Angeles!
