Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is the long-awaited reboot of the 2008 economic fantasy anime. It’s also the reboot anime no one ever expected to see. Especially since studio Brain’s Base just sort of left the plot hanging at season 2 without a word. Fortunately, it looks like studio Passione (Interspecies Reviewers, Mieruko-chan, Yuri Is My Job!) look like they’re putting their all into this anime. Heck, they might even finish the story. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf ~ PV Trailer 2 Details
TOHO Animation is proud to hype up Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf with that brand new second PV trailer above on YouTube. Said PV trailer shows off the star of this anime: Holo the Wise Wolf. It seems that just like in the original story by Isuna Hasekura, this ex-harvest goddess is at it again. All to help an ordinary merchant become wealthy in exchange for a ride back home. You can even check out Crunchyroll’s official synopsis below to see for yourself:
Lawrence, a traveling merchant, finds a nude girl with the ears and tail of a wolf asleep in his cart. She is Holo, a harvest goddess with an untamed beast lurking inside. Armed with his street smarts and her animal instincts, a simple peddler and a forgotten deity journey through the countryside while reaping the riches of happiness and exposing the bankruptcy which dwells in the human heart.
Even better: this second PV trailer gives us a reminder as to the release window. Apparently, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf will make its streaming debut sometime in April 2024.
